Hyundai Merchant Marine(HMM), founded in 1976, has grown to become one of the worlds largest multi-modal marine transportation companies, commanding over 119 ships as of January 2002. The fleet includes full container carriers, LNG carriers, oil tankers, pure car carriers, bulk carriers, and others. HMM employs 4,566 personnel - 982 domestic, 1,958 shipboard and 1,626 overseas. THe organization has 3 Headquarters, 14 overseas subsidiaries and approximately 70 offices and branches all over the world.

HMM has an ambitious blueprint for becoming one of the top-ranking mult-imodal transportation companies in the world by 2010.
